hheeeyyyyyaaaa

Hey imagine that! It's sunday! sunday funday indeed. I was just looking at my numbers so far, and im happy with how far I've come. I mean some of you guys are crushing numbers outta the park. That's really cool to see. My numbers are climbing, I'm putting in the time with Da Mu Hsing. Starting to 'feel' stances again. The old Ahhh yeah, that's the ticket right there. Boom! its like finding gold or something like! Doesn't change the fact that there is still a lot of work to be done, just getting 'er done one stance at a time.

So yeah, and then there is the stick form. Taking a beating the corner. Honestly, I think im trying to hard with the weapon form. Like, seriously, I am trying to force my way through this concoction of congested stuff, like I don't even know what is going on it seams...hahaha...could be onto something there. So, I have made the call to stick to the schools stick form. It will just be for the better in the long run. I am really not disappointed about not being able to reproduce what stick form I had a long while ago. I was in a much different spot, and had already been pretty practiced with the stick. Its okay, I will see that form later, gotta get back to basics. Mark my words though, that old stick form is gonna get reborn.

That's been the theme so far, this year for me. Is the basics. Right?!? I remember the lessons I was taught about building our training up like a pyramid. I am glad I have my own apartment, just one-bedroom and no furniture! Ha. Man I have an air mattress, two lawn chairs, and four big tubberware tubs. Its great! Apartment in a box!! haha. Lots of room is what I'm getting at here. I'm not kicking tvs and stacking furniture so I can practice. Then the cleaning stuff start up with the you shouldn't do that. Fine! What a pain! oh dudes, just a pain training in hotel rooms, but. I did manage-ish. This is more ideal, I do suppose. I feel the hotelers out there. And, uh so yeah, there's that I guess. Haha.

WELL, that's about enough hot sauce from this fella right here I do suppose.

Thanks for your time!

Yup

Hey there! boy, was it ever nice being back in class. I will tell you that right now. Lets dive right in, come for a journey. In class Thursday night, Sifu, was showing us a technique, that was extremely involved. im always at my happiest when i'm in class learning new ways, new techniques. seemingly though, its all so very familiar. Not that I have learnt that technique in particular, but the footwork, the hip projection, the base of it all. sp much fun to work with, but I am in great need of this lesson. Right now, I feel that is one of my major shortcomings is my stances. Awwesome, something else to help keep things spiced up. I do take a fair amount of my time and sit in stances, move around my apartment in stances and slide stepping and such. I hope those are sound! Im sure they are because, I watch my feet and legs. Pay attention to the fine details. Try to anyhow.

Da Mu Hsing I feel os coming along very well. I have put up some pretty decent numbers against that big boy. Fights on hand form. Told you I was coming back for you! Again, though, its slowing down, breathing and concentrating on what is going on with things everywhere. So, again, I fall back to the basics and started getting into stances and practicing the simple blocks and strikes. It feels great. mmm mmm Im loving it. Concnetrate, man concentrate. There is a really good jam on the radio right now. Soooo, listen, I am just take five and groove......Standing Outside a broken phone booth with money in my hand, Primitive Radio Gods....Anyhow, back to reality. Back to the basics. I know how to do the majority of whats in my binder, its a matter of doing it again. Like, seriously, when I brought that stick to class and started to swing that fun lover around again, I'm just like a little kid again. letting all that out through kung fu and leaving with not much else for the drive home.

So, I guess what I am saying is it was really nice being back home for a few quick nights. Had some good quality time with the family. board games and wrestling and just simply being silly with my boys. Laughing at farts and fart noises. Ahhh, It was a tough out the door yesterday. Back to work, today was day numero uno. Its business time. Time to do what I do, and kick down some more doors and be like Oh hey there! Didn't see the doorknob. Well, I am Will Duncan, and I plan on being the main go to get 'er done guy on this claim. I've got a lot to learn, and an even larger amount of desire to learn, so, lets learn this business.

And I think I am going to leave that right there for you!

Thanks for your time

This is the Day

Oh Hi there. How you doing? Very good thanks. Well, here's another one of my ramblings.

I have been working hard on Da Mu Hsing lately. I feel I'm making progress. I have sent out a few videos to a few Sifus to have a hard look at. There is still a fair bit of work, but, not as much as there was last week! Centering and solidifying those stances.

I really enjoy Kung Fu. It truly brings me happiness. Doing the techniques and shadow boxing around my spot here, makes for a good time. There are times when I want to turn on the jets and just throw punches and kicks. you know, you get into a good training groove and you really want to push things a bit more. Yes, I do that sometimes, but I focus on the technique of it, and I'm forcing myself to throw methodical and structured punches. Sifu had pointed out my skeleton was unaligned, and so, I have been focusing on that part. Get the stance, then the action. keep stances clean and crisp. I am really enjoying the simple things in kung fu.

The consistency in my training is really starting to make a swooping comeback. I am proud of my progress lately. Its easy here in Grande Prairie, where I just have to worry about me. coming up on days off and going home, chilling with the family, could be another thing. I mean, I'm pretty beat tired too. This has been a long stretch. Really it just seems long because its the first real hitch of the year. They always get easier. The plan is, is this guy right here is going to nap. Probably with my dog on the couch, oh theres no probably, that's going to happen. He will be belly up, head on my face, slowly pushing me off the couch. And I actually, probably wont nap.  To actually see my beaut of a family....in real life. Ha, like who is this guy! Stranger Danger!! I am thankful for the facetime and other magical stuff these devices do. It does make it easier when the kids can "see" you as opposed just hearing their voices. It, you know, it takes some of the edge away.

I plan on coming into class Thursday night. So, that will be nice. I am quite excited to be in class again. Da Hu Hsing'ing it up. Bust out the old stick! Haven't done too much with it yet, I left my stick at home, and like I say, This stick is mine! There are many like it, but this one is mine! Hahaha Good old Full Metal Jacket. Classic movie. just fantastic. So, I have some catch up to do, but, I am re-birthing my stick form, from way back when. I feel, this is going to be a lot of fun.

So, it appears I am going to ramble on, which is an amazing song, so Ill just pass it on to the next person.

Thanks for your time.
Have a great night.

Team Rat

Hi there. im Mr.Duncan and this is my weekly blog

Alrighty then, lets get started. I have been away from the kwoon for an obvious while, and my training went the eventual way-side. I have been working out of town and living outta a motel rooms. It was an odd place with odd people around. haha I fit right in, eh! I never really made a lot of time to train either, working twelve hr shifts, you know, only have so many minutes to do personal stuff. so, I had excuses to not practice, "I don't have time for that anymore","i have no room for that here" and other weak thoughts like that. I was getting sick of the excuses I gave myself to be lazy. sick of mediocracy. So I started to build myself up for the requirements, and asked if i could join. And oh boy, hey I am! Im not top drawer material yet, but, i will be. Give me time and man this is gonna be fun.

I may not have ohysically practiced for a while, but mentally, some of the lessons I have learnt here in srkf, have just stuck.I am happy i did I Ho Chuan before, because the time spent trudging away in a techniques and hand forms and weapon forms have stuck. More of the forms and techniques are lost.... for now. I have a plan coming together. I have my goals on the fridge and on my phone. I got emails ready and phone numbers if needed. Numbers and reps are getting more and more consistant. Im feeling more ad more confident in Da Mu Hsing. I dont know if i should use a stick as a weapon form this year simply because of the low roof. I miss the stick though. I really enjoy the stick. This stick is mine. There are many like it, but this one is mine!

Anyhow, I have a fairly good base for now. I have a lot a lot a lot of work ahead of me. I really want to be good again, not as good as i used to be, but, better!! Im going to work really hard to stay here online and try to contribute as much as I can. I am going to make a point of getting into the kwoon once a turn-a-round.

There are a ton of basics this guy right here, has absolutely gotta get back to, and this year is the year. I am excited to work with the team in one fashion or another. I do hope that when time, my forms will be up to par for the team, when i hopefully get some time at home. Spring break up cant come fast enough. These longer shifts, you get lots of time off. Lots as in do two separate loads of laundry and pin her back to work. But, ive yet to get back home, i think only 10 more days now. Yowie wowie thats exciting!! I can see my dog. That bugger is spot on, I miss my dog. More than the kids. Kidding. probably...maybe. anyways the dog and the kids are awesome. okay!!

Well, There ya go. I have now run out of words to say for now. Right?!? Took long enough....
I will talk at you soon.
